9600M GT Overclocking :O

Guys, just another noob question...

Say you are sucessfull with the OC, would the clock remain at the OC'ed clock?

My normal 9600m GT is clocked at 167/500/300 core/shader/mem at idle and go up to 500/1250/800 in 3D apps.

The reading is from rivatuner.

This power saving method would greatly impact the battery life when you're using laptop other than playing games.

I'd like to OC my 9600mGT as well but I don't want to lose the power saving option as well...

Well,in this case i suppose you should wait for new RivaTuner release, where our cards become supported...there you ll put a desired clocks for 3d performance and idle mods.. The main problem here, that DDR2(and i believe you are one of us) owners cant overclock it.

Nope, mine's comes with DDR3.

Another question, if I OC my card with either ntune or rivatuner, can I revert it back to factory setting and get the power saving features (powermizer)?

If yes, I'm gonna try OC my card tonight (I live in Indonesia) and get back to you with the result...

according to his memory clock he has DDR2 if 800=400x2, or DDR3 if 800=1600\2.

NiBitor creators are not going to figure something out, until someone will post BIOS. So DDR2 users stucked..But there is Light of hope for DDR3 Users. One of the users already posted BIOS of DDR3 version. I believe it will supported in next release.

this is really meaningless.. how are we supposed to post our BIOS since we cannot extract it?

Thats the point! :) ..i was able not to extract, but to dump bios from memory,i sent it to NiBiTor's creators..maybe its enough for them.

if you give me the procedure, i can dump mine too, even if i believe that our laptops are quite the same :)

UPDATE

leshcat, i am still searching the web for people who succeded in OC the GPU. i found a guy who made it. i dunno if i can post the link, but meanwhile i'll send you a PM with this link of a fuc**ng guy who made it.

Good Job! I made it very simply. Download Rivatuner 2.11. Install and run with /BI to get BIOS (i didnt succeed, if you ll succeed - we Won), or use /BD(dumping BIOS from RAM,cant flash with it,but specialists can figure out how to add the support) keys from CMD.

Well i know every1 here is dv5t owner, and I didnt mean to ask tht are there any dv5t owners in the thread, I meant to ask the question that do all the owners in the thread experience the same freezing issue or not.
